                                                                                                    SUMMARY

What is WAP:- WAP stands for Wireless Access Protocol . It is used to describe a multi-layered protocol and related technologies to mobile devices such as PDA and cell phones. History of WAP:- WAP dates back to its roots in 1990's . Several technologies before emergence of WAP were Tagged Test Markup Language ( TTML) , Intelligent Terminal Transfer Protocol (ITTP), Handheld Device Markup Language( HDML). With the formation of OMA( Open Mobile Alliance ) , several technologies combined to form WAP.

Working of WAP:-delivery of many protocols and technologies , through a proxy server that bridges the gap between the wired Internet and the wireless service provider's network. The Proxy server manages the communication between the wireless client and internet servers. What is WML:- WML(Wireless Markup Language ) is a subset of HTML and has roots in XML.

Differences Between WML and HTML:- WML is structured and particular about syntax. It is case sensitive , tags have required attributes and WML pages are structured as "DECKS".
